Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets. Responsibilities Starting Wage: $20.50 an Hour Shift Differential: $2 an Hour Hours: 1:30 PM - 10:30 PM Schedule: Monday through Friday with rotational Saturday Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Disability insurance Employee assistance program Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off (Available Day 1) Referral program Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance POSITION SUMMARY: The mix person is responsible for preparing egg mixes for all lines in the precooked belt area. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Use a computer to produce batch sheets. Reading the schedule to determine what batches to produce. Assembly/Disassembly of piping and pumps in the mix room. Sanitation of above parts and tanks if needed. Ensuring that all equipment and ingredients are in sanitary condition prior to use. Operation of all equipment in mix room; scales, flow panels, control panels, etc. Accurate weighing of all ingredients and adherence to procedures to ensure consistent batching of product. Documentation of work following company and USDA guidelines. Timing of product lines to determine how much mix to produce. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). The successful completion of Powered Industrial Truck training program and pass the forklift certification. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend in English simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization in English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited stardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
