Location Description Post Consumer Brands in Battle Creek, Mich., the cereal capital of the U.S., is the company's largest manufacturing plant and home to about 600 team members. When you join the team here, you'll be helping to produce some of the most iconic cereal brands, including Honey Bunches of Oats cereal, PEBBLES cereal, Grape-Nuts and Honeycomb cereal. The Battle Creek plant is also unique as it is home to the original barn where C.W. Post started the Postum cereal company in 1895. The Battle Creek team has deep community roots, supporting the city's Cereal Festival, local elementary schools, and hosting several on-site volunteer events throughout the year. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager the Maintenance Operations Manager directs the activities of the Skilled Trade personnel to: 1) support manufacturing in meeting all business objectives relative to maintenance for the specific area. 2) Leads maintenance supervisors and their direct reports in daily activities 3) Advises and assists Maintenance Manager as a member of his/her team. 4) To provide overall Maintenance customer support to Production teams that aligns the maintenance activities to the common goals of both Maintenance and Production. Job duties include: Directs Maintenance Supervisors in a 24x7 production environment. Takes escalation calls as necessary. Primary Operations contact for support and review of equipment issues working directly with the Business Unit Manager and his/her staff overseeing production. Assures maintenance services are performed in a professional and cost-effective manner. Physically audits work performed for hours charged, parts usage and professionalism of work performed. Communicates with Managers, Operators, Maintenance Technicians, and Staff about equipment issues. Communicating changes to maintenance procedures and methods as it relates area. Responsible for overseeing daily activities and executing routine and reactive maintenance plans. Communicates with building personnel and OMC about equipment downtime issues and schedules for maintenance in buildings. Controls costs for designated plant area for Maintenance Assures weekend plans are balanced with building priorities and budget constraints. Implement cross-functional teams to reduce costs and improve OEE. Working with cross-functional teams to analyze equipment downtime to improve equipment availability. Create and execute a maintenance plan implemented to maintain the desired level of availability and functionality of all critical equipment. Lead the effort to identify repetitive equipment failures and follow up on resolution efforts incl. interaction with Reliability personnel. Leads training plan for trades. Lead contact for Maintenance staff union issue resolution Responsible for accident prevention and compliance programs identified in PSRMP. Backup to Maintenance Manager as needed.
