Join our company and be part of an innovative team that’s First in Food. Location Description Michael Foods, Inc., located in Bloomfield, Nebraska, is one of our only cage free facilities. The facility is located three miles outside of Northeast Nebraska's busiest community. Bloomfield is a haven for those who prefer small-town life over city living and is located less than 30 miles from recreation areas where you can enjoy fishing, boating, kayaking and camping. Our location produces liquid egg product that is sent to our other facilities for further processing. Responsibilities JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-HOUSE MAINTENANCE: Responsible for following a preventative maintenance program. Maintain all rod conveyors, cross collections, baffle systems, etc. Responsible for maintaining equipment and houses as instructed by supervisor. Need to work closely with supervisor and co-workers in all departments. Collection and disposal of dead birds, do trash pick-up and fly control. Other duties include mill maintenance, outside maintenance, mowing, landscaping, manure (see below), etc. Responsible for maintaining all belts, splices, drive chains, fan gear boxes, etc. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-MANURE: Loading of third-party manure trucks Report load counts and weights daily. Operating the tunnel belt, incline belt, and sleds. Cleaning out the transfer room and idler area bi-weekly or as needed. Maintaining manure shed equipment (ex, greasing, gear boxes, cables, rollers) Watching the belts as they run to make sure there are no torn belts or tracking issues. Immediately notify affected employees if the tunnel or manure shed needs to be shut down because of an issue Responsible at all times for following and enforcing the Bio-Security Policy. Responsible for maintaining payloader and other manure handling equipment. Operate tractor, spreader, honey wagon and water wagon Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent. Experience: Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Licenses, certificates, registrations: Valid Drivers License Class A CDL License preferred Forklift License Pulmonary Function and Fit Testing Certificate Other skills and abilities: Free of any breathing problems or asthmatic conditions, dusty and aromatic conditions prevail. Must be able to work at various heights, ex. top of feed mill. Must have welding and cutting torch knowledge. Ability to read and understand oral and written instruction. Have good mechanical knowledge. Be able to work outside normal work hours when needed. Must have a valid drivers license Have or be able to obtain a Nebraska Class A CDL License. Must meet all DOT driving requirements. Ability to occasionally lift 75 pounds
