Post Holdings Sanitation Worker (Egg Processing) in Canby, Oregon

JOB SUMMARY :

Keeps equipment and working areas in processing department clean and orderly by performing the following duties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

  2. Ability to work in a team environment with little or no supervision in order to get the department sanitation completed before the start of production.

  3. Maintains regular and consistent attendance in relation to production scheduling and or time volunteered for.

  4. Cleans lint, dust, oil, egg and grease from machines, overhead pipes, floors and conveyors.

  5. Cleans screens and filters on egg wash tanks and or ventilation systems as needed.

  6. Scrubs egg wash tanks as needed.

  7. Washes walls, ceiling, windows, door panels and sills, floors, machines, packers, inedible buckets, totes.

  8. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.

  9. Maintains sanitation in the warehouse picking up debris, refuse, etc.

  10. Operates industrial truck to transport materials within plant as needed if licensed to do so.

  11. Starts pumps to force cleaning solution through production machinery.

  12. Position routinely requires the use of chemicals to clean equipment and related items. This will involve knowing (through training) what chemicals are used for what items and how. As well as how to properly mix them as it relates to applicable mixing ratios. Follows MSDS program.

  13. Informs supervisor of cleaning supply needs.

  14. Follows LOTO procedures.

  15. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

  16. Maintain SQF paper work for daily weekly and monthly checkoffs.

  17. Actively participate in and promote our safety culture by following safe work practices and adhering to all safety policies and procedures. Responsible for reporting all incidents, accidents and observations of unsafe acts or conditions.

  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE :

A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. The ability to write simple correspondence. The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

The ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. The ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Classroom testing and hands on material handler/forklift training to achieve certification as applicable to work area.

Confined space training and LOTO training certification by certified safety instructor
