8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Our Human Resources Coordinator plays a valuable role in our business by performing HR related duties on a professional level while working closely with the Human Resources Manager. This role will assist with employee inquiries relating to HR policies and programs and carry out responsibilities in, recruitment, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance. Duties And Responsibilities: Provides assistance to employee inquiries relating to HR policies and programs.  Maintains and tracks human resource statistics including headcount, absenteeism, turnover, vacations, sick leave, hours of work, seniority, and temporary/casual employment.  Processes new hires, terminations, changes.  Prepares Kronos and Ultipro information for payroll processing.  Processes and administers corporate and HR programs and policies for plant.  Administer leaves of absence for plant, to include: medical, FMLA, STD, LTD.  Conducts new employee orientations and actively participates in open enrollment process.  Develops materials, tools and documentation in support of HR programs and policies.   Provides timely delivery of disciplinary warnings/letters while monitoring deadlines associated with Collective Bargaining Agreements, Company and Plant Policies, etc.  Coordinate plant recruitment activities with Recruiter to ensure appropriate balance of responsibilities.    Counsels employees and managers on a variety of employee relations matters.  Creates and coordinates internal and external communications, procedures, and tools.  Coordinates meetings, training including agenda preparation and distribution.   Prepare and facilitate employee events, company celebrations and related meetings. Prepare and submit required reports to include monthly manager vacation updates; Quarterly Points , etc.  Develops and maintains filing systems and appropriate security precautions to ensure the confidentiality of HR information.  Develop and manage Recognition initiatives.   Completes special projects as requested.  Performs other related duties as required.  Competencies / Skills / Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Extensive knowledge of office administration, clerical procedures, and recordkeeping systems. Ability to learn new or updated software.

Education and Experience Required:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent from accredited institution Must have experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Excellent interpersonal, decision making/judgment, organizational and planning skills with demonstrated ability to think critically.  Proven ability to judge and respect matters of confidentially and deal effectively with situations which have the potential to be adversarial in nature.   Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.  Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently.  Preferred Education, Experience, And Skills: Associates or Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or Business Administration SHRM certification (Preferred)

Physical Requirements: Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: Must be able to sit for 7+ hours per day Must be able to walk for 1+ hours per day This position is regularly required to communicate with others, both oral and written. This position is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position may work in hot or cold environments. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Travel: This position may travel up to 10% of the time.
