The Electrical Technician's responsibilities include, but are not be limited to, equipment breakdowns, installation and startups, process improvements, preventative/precision maintenance programs and continuous improvements activities i.e. increasing machine reliability and installation of facility capital investments. Candidate will perform specified electrical work to code regulations. Alternative job titles for this role may include Industrial Electrician, Multi-craft Technician or Electronics Technician. #firstinpeople $4,000 sign on bonus available Schedule: Nights 6pm-6am 2-2-3 #firstinpeople JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to respond in an efficient and effective manner to urgent production needs related to equipment. Completing preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial IE&C work throughout the facility Utilize CMMS to support the maintenance function including review, execution, and documentation of scheduled/unscheduled work daily. Understands NEC code to a journeyman level and demonstrates accordingly Proficient knowledge of conduit installation and wiring layout, along with ability to repair existing electrical systems Ability to build and/or modify a control panel to a professional level Proficient understanding of mechanical and/or electrical schematics and blueprints including equipment specific electronics diagrams. Ability to “red line” changes for engineering. Proficient knowledge and ability in installing, maintaining, testing, evaluating, and repairing various electrical components and systems including medium voltage automation systems and motor control circuits Proficient knowledge of power distribution, MMC’s, control panels and switches/fuses Proficient knowledge related to hardware issues with PLCs (programmable logic controllers), automation software and touchscreens Basic knowledge and ability to get on-line with a PLC and/or HMI to review logic and troubleshoot issues. Proficient ability to troubleshoot, replace, and program VFD’s and HIM modules. Proficient ability to understand and use the appropriate tools (e.g. multimeter) to troubleshoot and diagnose the root cause of electrical, electronics & instrumentation issues in the facility. Proficient knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting skills for rotating equipment along with hydraulic and pneumatic applications. Knowledge and use of mechanical tools, hand tools, and power tools. Proficient knowledge of utilities equipment and electrical requirements Proficient understanding of precision measurement equipment/tools Proficient understanding of security and alarm systems Proficient understanding of ARC flash/blast and the ability to use/follow PPE and specialty tool policies Participate in root cause failure analysis in equipment failures. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels and is willing to train others. Responsible for adhering to all safety policies and procedures, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Take personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone Adhere to Quality work practices, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained. Ensure that all policies, procedures, and activities related to Food Safety and Quality are followed and complied with, in effort to reduce process variability Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent 3+ years’ experience in industrial operations, plant operations, maintenance, utilities and/or related field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to do basic math PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Prior training and education in OSHA 30 Hour, HAZMAT awareness, Arc Flash, LOTO, electrical systems and fall protection Prior training in NEC code Prior training in instrumentation and controls Prior food manufacturing experience
