Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The Raw Product Assistant is responsible for data entry and data verification in the SAP operating system and Matrex Truck Scaling system for raw product (potato) deliveries and raw product inventory movement throughout the raw product supply chain; farm to plant. The position includes duties such as making Schedule Agreements and PO’s, reconciling carrier delivery weights, generating, communicating and distributing reports, assisting with coordination of raw inventory logistics and reporting, and will act as the back-up to the Raw Product Planner. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Verifies and enters raw delivery info and data in SAP operating system and Matrex Truck scaling system to facilitate the efficient scaling of inbound and outbound scale transactions. Maintains supplier, carrier, and driver info records which facilitates efficient communication and raw delivery operation. Creates, maintains, communicates, and distributes reports for the Raw Product Purchasing Manager and Raw Product Planner to assist in the tracking of raw product from field/storage contract creation to the final delivery of each potato field and/or contract which, at times, requires direct contact with suppliers. Coordinates and creates Schedule Agreement and Purchase Orders for all potato purchases. Promotes and follows all standard operating procedures, adheres to safe work practices and GMPs. Maintains sanitary conditions to ensure product quality is maintained. Reports any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety/quality or employee safety to management. Act and perform as a backup to the Raw Product Planner. Occasional assistance to plant Purchasing and/or materials management Will inspect and sample raw product in field, storage and/or in company’s facility. This job requires daily on-site work with occasional farm and storage inspections as directed. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AND PREFERRED: Required: High school diploma or general education degree. Minimum Higher Ed: Associates degree Preferred: 4-year college degree and/or commensurate proven skills meeting the job standards Preferred: Agricultural related education and/or experience EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Basic word processing (Word) Advanced Excel spreadsheet and database software skills with the intent to produce analytical reports. Effective written communication skills: ability to write reports, create business correspondence, write procedural manuals, professional emails. Effective positive verbal communications skills: respond to questions from internal and external customers, interact with co-workers sufficiently to exchange or convey information, receive and execute work direction, and present information in one-on-one and group situations. Ability to read, analyze and interpret basic information and data. Strong attention to detail, effective organization methods for maintaining record keeping and filing systems. Time management skills necessary to complete tasks and assignments within deadlines. Mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to generate and interpret graphs. Demonstrate the ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work effectively either independently or with a team to complete assignments. Ability to change and re-prioritize plans and tasks on short notice based on operational situations. Self-motivated to complete work assignments through use of current knowledge and/or through seeking direction/asking questions. Knowledge of material management and distribution (preferred). Ability to work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty, humid environments (short periods).
