Location Description Post Consumer Brands corporate headquarters in Lakeville, Minn. is about 20 miles south of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Lakeville has all the benefits of smaller town living with access to everything a large metropolitan area has to offer. Responsibilities Overview This position is responsible for strategic growth plans and delivery of revenue and profitability goals. The incumbent must be the chief architect of the portfolio, weaving together all components of the “4 P’s” into a consistent, effective brand positioning that delivers on a compelling consumer need. Through influence and effective partnering, the incumbent will align the organization to the key strategies and annual plans of the assigned brand while rallying the sales force to flawless execution of stated goals. This marketing opportunity will require the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, multi-task, and keeping various projects on track. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, will be required to keep other functional areas apprised of and engaged in team’s initiatives. Responsibilities and Accountabilities Brand Leadership – Provide a compelling sense of direction for the brand and the team. Steward the brand architecture and ensure alignment of strategy with the marketing execution and the “4 P’s” of positioning (product, price, place, and promotion). Know the consumer and the competition inside and out – make decisions based on the unique needs of this consumer and/or category in order to drive demand. Train and develop others – direct reports and cross functional team members – to maximize performance of the brand. Growth Planning & Idea Leadership -- Responsible for the development and execution of a compelling brand strategy, annual brand plans, and “jobs to be done” of future innovation. Partner extensively with Insights & Strategy, Innovation, Category Development, Creative Services, Shopper Marketing, Sales, and Operations to ensure alignment of volume and profitability targets to overall technology platforms. Builds in key measures and agreed contingencies to ensure delivery of growth plan. Further partner with the Integrated Marketing Communications team to ensure compelling agency briefs, media strategy, and total brand communications. Responsible for forecast accuracy of ongoing demand to ensure strong in-market execution. Deliver effective Communication – Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with various levels of the organization. Resist the urge to “report facts” and push to tell a deeper, actionable business story. Provide clear prioritization and aligns resources to deliver against key priorities. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree required MBA Preferred Experience Minimum of 5-7 years in marketing management of consumer packaged goods Other Characteristics Knowledge of consumer packaged goods marketing, advertising, sales, trade and consumer promotion, market analysis, market research, budgeting, financial analysis, pricing, innovation, and strategic business planning Key Leadership Traits: Agility -- Knows how to appropriately apply rigor of research and analysis to the level of risk anticipated in any endeavor. Able to move with purposeful urgency and shift gears seamlessly, when needed. Contingency planning and objective analysis are critical. Focus -- Builds a robust pipeline of opportunities, yet able to focus an organization on the critical few things that must be achieved. Knows when to ideate and when to execute – and ensures the organization is clear on work plans and launch cadence. Accountability -- Self-assured with ego in check. Hunger to identify what is working and improve that which is not. Dedicated to keeping the organization abreast of critical initiatives and performs effective post launch analysis without triggering defensiveness in others. People developer -- Servant leader with patience to teach and mentor. Able to provide direct reports “room to run” and does not mistake style for substance. Knows when to lead and when to follow.
