Location Description Post Consumer Brands corporate headquarters in Lakeville, Minn. is about 20 miles south of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Lakeville has all the benefits of smaller town living with access to everything a large metropolitan area has to offer. Responsibilities Overview The Demand Planner is responsible for establishing an accurate demand forecast for a rolling 18 period horizon. The incumbent is responsible for forecasting using analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict and enhance the accuracy of the forecast of baseline sales as well as incorporating cross functional information to best predict incremental and promotional forecast lifts. The Demand Planner participates in monthly IBP (Integrated Business Planning) with cross functional groups including Brand Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, Consumer Insights, Sales, and Trade Marketing to gain alignment of the Brand/Product level forecasts by providing data driven decisions and actions. This position will have heavy focus on promotional pallet forecasts and is responsible for partnering with Trade as well as Sales to gain alignment to key merchandising objectives. Responsibilities and Accountabilities Demand Expertise – Develop and communicate demand forecasts for non-core brands and promotional pallets. Generate an 18 period rolling demand forecast Perform statistical modeling work within Kinaxis through evaluation of model types and adjustment to parameter settings. Apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting accuracy. Utilize Trade Planning System and collaborate with Sales and Trade Teams to plan promotional volume forecasts. Actively engaged in sales planning and execution discussions for Promotional Events. Lead and execute a monthly pallet forecast review with key stakeholder of Post Production Assembly Team. Active partnership with Sr. Demand Planners in regards to pallet forecasts including active involvement in monthly IBP meetings. Perform collaboration tasks which may include the following: align customer and internal forecasts, execute tasks for major events, and customer analysis. Provide suggestions for improving the demand forecasting, collaboration, and reporting processes to efficiently satisfy Sales, Trade and Supply Team requirements. Build internal process and tool expertise to allow for efficiently completing forecasting and collaboration steps within the IBP process. Execute a monthly pallet forecast accuracy recap and review process with key stakeholders including Trade, Sales and Supply Teams. Track and report Key Performance Indicators of Bias, Item WMAPE and Item-DC WMAPE, perform root cause analysis and make the appropriate adjustments to the demand plan. Responsible for delivering and communicating a timely and accurate forecast within the monthly IBP cycle. Maintain contact with professional peers to stay current on supply chain planning trends and developments. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree required in supply chain, business, accounting, or statistics. Integrated planning systems training like ERP/DRP/MRP/MPS is required. APICS, IBF or other relevant Demand Planning certifications are preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3 years industry experience operating in the area of demand forecasting with preference of experience in consumer packaged goods industry. Experience with Kinaxis software highly desirable. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics: Strong technical skillset required in one or more of the major statistical forecast software packages (Kinaxis, Logility, SAP, APO, Manugistics, Demantra). Ability to communicate and effectively interact with and across Supply Chain functions, Brand Marketing, Finance, Operations, IT, Sales, and Trade Teams. Strong mathematical, quantitative and analytical skills Familiarity with demand planning concepts Broad range of advanced computer skills -- business planning software packages, statistics applications, Microsoft Excel, business intelligence reporting tools Self-directed Ability to communicate findings, make recommendations and facilitate change project management skills Ability to manage many details with a high level of accuracy Ability to establish timelines and meet deadlines Skill in prioritizing workloads Ability to initiate, coordinate and move forward on planned activities Decision making, collaboration, problem solving, influencing; meeting facilitation Ability to incorporate multiple views (customer, marketing, manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, etc.) in the supply chain planning process Strong critical and analytical thinking skills Sound business judgment
