Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations located in Aroostook County. Our Mars Hill facility has over 200 incredible team members who work together to provide our customers with the best possible potato product. Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: This position will purchase and manage the inventory of all production materials for the Plant level. As a member of the local Operations team, this position will ensure quality and service while reducing total cost of ownership for the business. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Purchase production materials that meet or exceed the quality specifications and cost standards required by the local Operation’s business. Responsible for maintaining all operation supplies per monthly budget and actively addressing any issues. Manage keep stock (PPE & Janitorial supplies) program with outside vendor. Identify additional cost savings opportunities with local Operations and with CLP team. Manage internal and external material inventories to optimize total cost to the business. Interface with all other site functions as needed to improve material effectiveness as it pertains to quality, productivity and recovery. Maintain necessary documents in support of local Accounting initiatives. Adhere to all safety polices and procedures. Complete daily shift process order confirmations Run Process Reporting Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. 1-3 years purchasing experience preferred Inventory Management System experience preferred SAP experience preferred Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations. Ability to respond to questions from internal/external customers/vendors at all levels including management. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions, ratios. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. Ability to read, write and speak English In order to promote a manufacturing environment that is safe and efficient for both personnel and food, the ability to effectively communicate in basic English (both verbal and written) is required. This includes the ability to speak, read and comprehend safety instructions, rules and warnings for self and others in both normal and emergency situations.
