Location Description Post Consumer Brands West Coast hub distribution center is in Salt Lake City, Utah. At this facility, there are just under 70 team members focused on safety and efficiently shipping products across to retailers across North America. The Salt Lake City team has a long history of supporting community organizations, including local schools, food banks, and various other non-profit organizations. Responsibilities OVERVIEW This role actively directs the daily shift operations in partnership with the on-shift Warehouse Lead. The Dispatcher interacts with a wide variety of parties and provides exceptional service to carriers, drivers, spotters, operators, and internal functions. This role prioritizes and assigns workload to accomplish operational goals such as safety, efficiency, and on time delivery, and it utilizes warehouse software and dashboards to update and execute the daily schedule. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide a high-quality customer experience for inbound & outbound drivers including processing paperwork and effectively communicating DC expectations. Act as a site leader directing where and when work will be completed to achieve operational goals, in coordination with the on-shift Warehouse Lead and Specialists. Act as a back-up front-office contact when Supervisor and Manager are not present (e.g., weekend and night shifts). Prioritize workload and balance competing objectives. Work productively with other team members through following best practice and guidelines, effective communication, and successful shift hand-off. Coordinate yard activities, including spotter driver direction, trailer inventory, and workflow. Communicate and problem solve with partners such as customers, carriers, Customer Operations, Transportation, and Information Technology. Assist loading crews by providing special loading instructions and information on inventory/load discrepancies; adjust picks based on changes in information. Print bills of lading and accurately review and file. Assist in prepping sales samples and noncompliance returns for shipment; Coordinate less than truckload orders. (LTL) Update reports such as the loading and receiving schedule, yard report, and short product, and performance tracker. Qualifications Education: High school diploma required Training and experience in warehouse/transportation or supply chain functions preferred. Training in integrated planning systems (WMS/YMS/TMS) preferred. Skills and Experience: Two years’ office experience (preferred) Experience with warehouse management digital technology (software and hardware) Experience in Shipping/Receiving (>6 months) ideally in a food distribution or production environment Demonstrated high level of competency in PC applications and the ability to use technology as a decision support tool, including a broad range of computer skills -- database, spreadsheet, statistics applications and business planning software packages. Ability to communicate findings, make recommendations and facilitate change.
