We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds. As a Michael Foods Electrician, you'll play a crucial role in our processing and production areas, overseeing all electrical systems and taking charge of programmable logic controls and general wiring troubleshooting. Your responsibilities include reading wiring schematics, interacting with the High Voltage System, and demonstrating proficiency in industrial wiring. Operating within power transmissions, understanding machine foundations, and mastering the intricacies of hydraulic and pneumatic systems will be key components of your role. What you will be responsible for: Michael Foods Electricians are responsible for all electrical systems in processing and production areas as well as maintaining and troubleshooting programmable logic controls and general wiring. Some of what you will be doing: Maintaining and troubleshooting programmable logic controls and general wiring. Reading wiring schematics. Interacting with the High Voltage System. Monitoring and troubleshooting all electrical system production and processing. Working around power transmissions. Reports to management if any conditions or practices may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Assumes personal responsibility to ensure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Adheres to Quality work practices, follows GMP’s, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality. Able to work overtime and holidays when needed. Ensures regulatory compliance at all times Perform other duties as assigned.#firstinpeople Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent. Must be able to terminate control wiring. Must be able to trouble shoot low/high voltage control systems. Capable of ascending and descending ladders and stairs. Must be a complete team player Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Certification/Degree from a college or technical school. Journeyman’s license 1-2 years of industrial electrical experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Capable of safely lifting up to 75 lbs. on occasion. Ability to work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty and humid environments.
