Join our company and be part of an innovative team that’s First in Food. Location Description Wakefield is one of the largest production facilities within Michael Foods. We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for overall equipment cleanliness and sanitation of department area, following sanitation schedule. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS? Accountable for daily, weekly and monthly master sanitation schedules for department area. Sweeps and mops department area and hallways. Use squeegee and hose to wash walls. Uses pallet jack to move totes, washes and rebuilds totes to air dry. Uses team efforts for inspection of entire area. Communicates with the supervisor, maintenance and operators about any safety, maintenance or production problems throughout the shift. Follows proper SOP’s (Standard Operation Procedures) Assumes personal responsibility to ensure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Adheres to safe work practices, following GMP’s, maintaining sanitary conditions and ensuring that product quality is maintained. Reports to management if any conditions or practices may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Ensures regulatory compliance at all times. Able to perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED: Less than high school education. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Good communication skills. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers. Capability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form. Ability to understand and follow oral instruction. Must be able to perform multiple tasks at a time (tripping cups, cleaning whites, etc.) Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with others to complete work assignments. Open to change. Positive interpersonal relationships. Able to work independently and with others in a team environment. Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction. Displays responsible behavior at work. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Capable of safely lifting 50 lbs. on occasion. Capable to work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty and humid environments. Possess the ability to stop and bend while cleaning. Capable to stand on hard surface for most of shift. Ability to work around required cleaning solutions.
