Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for organizing and leading, together with Production Supervisors, start to finish cleaning and sanitation of production lines to ensure timely completion within company requirements. Lead cleaning as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule and assist the Sanitation Superintendent with planning and organizing cleaning activities. Shift: This is a 2nd/3rd shift crossover shift. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the cleaning of equipment, production and storage areas in preparation for food manufacturing as described by the SSOP for the task. Lead the cleaning of the facility and grounds as indicated on the Master Sanitation Schedule. Cleaning includes use of chemicals, manual scrubbing, Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Clean-Out of-Place (COP). Cleaning may involve use of lifts, ladders and other tools. Complete all required documentation following task completion. Conduct post-sanitation inspections. Provide guidance to Sanitation and Production Team Members to drive performance improvement. Lead by example to drive the sanitation process to achieve timely completion with minimal recleans. Oversee and monitor performance, use of time, and conduct of Sanitation Team Members. Oversee and perform titration of sanitation chemicals to verify proper concentrations. Utilize computer control screens for equipment and cleaning controls when required. Possess knowledge of chemical usage, hazards, PPE requirements, and ensure proper usage of chemicals and PPE by team members. Understand and be proficient in disassembly and reassembly of equipment. Provide guidance to Team Members to complete these activities. Orient and train new Sanitation personnel in the safe performance of their duties. Monitor condition and levels of cleaning utensils and supplies and report when supplies need repaired, replaced or ordered. Understand and be knowledgeable of SSOP’s, GMP’s and safety requirements. Provide guidance to other Team Members regarding these requirements and take action necessary to obtain compliance. Correct any unsafe acts or conditions observed as soon as possible and complete accident paperwork promptly. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and injuries to the appropriate person or office. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Comply with applicable environment, health and safety rules, procedures, laws and accepted safe work practices. Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner. Serve as backup to the Sanitation Team Member L 3 and Sanitation Supervisor/Superintendent. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Required: Ability to use computer applications, including Microsoft products and Email Ability to use basic math skills Ability to use a pallet jack and powered lift. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to plan workload according to production/sanitation schedule and requirements Ability to recognize tasks that need to be completed and complete them. Occasional heavy lifting with a weight range of 40 -60 pounds.
